Hi SF Kids Swim Families,

Great progress updates to share this July! We’ve got three things for you: a new pool-finder tool developed with our partners, an important open survey to complete with Rec Parks, and a social sharing blurb for you to spread the word. Plus, an upcoming meeting if you want to get more involved. Thank you for working to make SF pools more accessible to families! 

Find open family swim hours with our new prototype

You've told us that figuring out where and when Family Swimming is available is half the trouble for San Francisco parents. The Joyful Parenting SF team has jumped in and designed a prototype showing all family swim times at a glance on a given day and time, all around the city. Next time you're wondering where you can go swim, check it out! You can hide or show layers using the legend on the left of the map.

A quick reminder: North Beach is the only warm pool, Hamilton is the only pool with slides (open on Saturday in the Summer), and Mission is an outdoor pool. Please share any feedback, positive or negative. Happy swimming!

We’ll also be sharing the prototype with RecPark and figuring out how we can make this into a stable and easily-shared tool for families.

SF Kids Swim Action Alert

Rec & Parks has released a new survey on pool access. We need everyone to fill out the survey by the end of July to ensure our voices are heard. Please answer the questions as accurately as possible. Since the survey doesn't capture the need for Sunday swim, please include this or similar text: 

"Please provide Sunday swim hours. Sundays and after-work family swim hours are important for San Francisco families to have pool access."

Having families fill out the survey is going to be the most important action SF Kids Swim is taking this summer. Make your voice heard!
